"When Security Demands a Response, Right-One®, Right-Now."
Our History of Outstanding Security Services

Locks can tell stories, just like people do. Their stories have fascinated me since I started locksmithing at age fifteen. My first job in the industry was cleaning a security company's warehouse on weekends. After a year, while most of my friends were enjoying their summer off from school, I was running the shop by myself as a "one man lock shop" on weekends. I learned to work on safe locks, car locks, home security systems, lock re-keys... every day brought a different task.
After high school, I briefly studied aviation maintenance, but soon returned to locksmithing when I received a job offer from the US government. My eleven years in government introduced me to containers, high security systems, industrial safes, vaults, algebraic systems... everything our government uses to protect its employees, assets, and property. My work took me to Germany, Ecuador, and other places around the world.
Right-One® began in 1998 with me, my old pickup truck, and my Dad's old electrician's tools. I followed a few simple principles that we still apply in our work today:
- Dependability. Whenever I can, I arrive at my jobs before the customer. That way, my customers know I'm here for them. When I first started, I'd leave my house (which was also the office) as early as necessary to arrive at the first job before my customer - sometimes as early as four in the morning. Our customers today know that they can count on us for the same fast, reliable service.
- Efficiency. When I started Right-One®, my goal was to go in with all the tools I needed, fix what I had to fix, and come back out with the job done right the first time... no running back and forth. Industrial buckets from a construction site became a storage system for tools and parts in the back of my truck, organized for quick use. With one "safe" bucket for safe tools and parts, and another bucket for hand tools, I could be very efficient. Today, the buckets are gone, but we still organize our shop, our equipment, and our staff to do our work quickly and correctly.
- Practicality. The pickup that carried Right-One® all over Washington was so old that I had to wear leather kneepads all day, to protect my knees from being repeatedly smashed into the dashboard. People laughed at my fashion sense, but those kneepads kept me healthy. We apply the same sensibility to our work today. Our products meet your needs without interfering with your work or your life.
- Training. During my time with Uncle Sam, I taught physical security to government security officers. Government colleagues tell me that they still use the training materials I wrote back then. Today, our team members receive comprehensive training in the latest technology, and other security companies often depend on us to train their employees.
- Teamwork. Six months after I started Right-One®, I had so many service calls that I was running nonstop, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, and I still couldn't keep up. Fate lent a hand when I bumped into an old high school buddy who was ready to jump in and work with me. He's been here eight years now, still jumping in, every day. Even though we have a larger team now, and we're as busy as ever, we work together to develop, install, test and implement our systems to make sure they keep you safe.
- The right mindset. Right-One® isn't here to sell you products; our job is to keep you safe. We analyze your location and determine what all the possible threats are, from the perspective of potential intruders. Then we design a custom solution to protect you from those threats.
Right-One® has grown tremendously since its early days of "Buckets on Wheels." We have always been very fortunate to work with the most wonderful customers in the world. I hope the Right-One® story inspires you to call us for your physical security needs, and that our work keeps your stories happy and successful for years to come.

Rick Karas, President
